CHESNUT LODGE SPECIAL SCHOOL

Brand New Sensory Garden

This is the brand new Sensory Play Garden that we designed, supplied and installed for Chesnut Lodge Special School over the summer holiday in 2019.

Further to the initial consultation with the school, we designed the original proposal, then after another couple of onsite meetings, the plans were amended slightly until the final design was agreed.

Once the specifications were agreed, we returned to the site with a ‘test’ bridge section – which we had several of the pupils test with their wheelchairs, so that we knew the design would be suitable before these were installed.

Once onsite, we removed and disposed all of the old planters, shrubbery, etc and supplied and installed the following:

Octagonal Shelter with Interactive Panels and Coloured Polycarbonate sections in the roof to allow different colours of light through, 2 x Wheelchair accessible ‘bumpy’ bridges, 4 x Heavy-duty Recycled Plastic Planters, a Rectangular Shelter with Seating, Artificial Grass (Green & Red) areas with Blue PlayBond ‘river’ effects, an Eco-Rain Wheel and Resin Bound Gravel Pathways throughout for easy wheelchair movement through the entire garden.
