Hockham Parish Council wanted to introduce new play equipment to Harling Road Play Area to encourage active outdoor play and make better use of the open green space. The goal was to install a modern, durable play structure that would appeal to a wide range of children while blending naturally into the surrounding landscape.

The site already had open grass space but lacked engaging climbing and activity equipment. The parish council required a solution that would:

PlayQuest supplied and installed a 2-Tower Activity Centre manufactured from recycled plastic, designed for strength, durability and long-term outdoor use.
The installation included:
- HDPE slide
- Approach scramble net
- Steps access
- Inclined clatterbridge
- Fireman’s pole
- Two interactive game panels
The recycled plastic structure offers excellent longevity, resisting rot, splintering and weather damage while maintaining a clean, modern appearance.
As the site already had a suitable grass area, the equipment was safely installed directly onto the existing surface, allowing the project to be delivered efficiently.
The Outcome
The new activity centre has transformed the Harling Road Play Area, introducing climbing, balancing, sliding and interactive elements that encourage active play.
Children can now move between towers, challenge themselves on the scramble net and clatterbridge, and enjoy multiple routes through the structure. The equipment creates a focal point within the green space while remaining sympathetic to the natural surroundings.
The entire installation was completed in just two days, providing the parish council with a high-quality, durable playground upgrade with minimal disruption.
