PlayQuest were delighted to be commissioned by Llanberis Community Council in Gwynedd, North Wales, to upgrade the existing surfacing at the Padarn Lake Play Area. The project involved the installation of our durable and attractive PlayBond Bonded Rubber Mulch, revitalising the popular lakeside play space and improving both safety and appearance.
Project Description
Located in the scenic surroundings of Llanberis, this project focused on renewing the worn wetpour surfacing at Padarn Lake Play Area. The existing bases were in poor condition, so PlayQuest supplied and installed PlayBond Bonded Rubber Mulch, a cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution designed for long-term performance.
By installing directly over the existing wetpour, our team were able to save the client both time and money by avoiding full removal and disposal costs. In addition, old concrete edgings were removed where necessary to ensure a smooth, consistent finish across all play zones.
The finished surface now provides a soft, safe, and visually appealing play area that complements the natural beauty of the lakeside setting, offering children a fun and secure place to play all year round.

Completed in just three days, the surfacing upgrade has transformed Padarn Lake Play Area into a bright, modern, and low-maintenance space. The PlayBond finish not only enhances safety and comfort underfoot but also delivers a fresh, inviting look that perfectly suits the stunning backdrop of Snowdonia.
